Greed (Autumn 2027)

Following on from Tess, our hugely successful adaptation of Thomas Hardy’s |Tess of the D’Urbervilles ,  Ockham’s Razor return with Greed a Greek tale made flesh.

Based on a story from Ovid’s Metamorphoses Greed is the tale of a king who hungers to be more revered than the gods.

After butchering a sacred grove, a king is punished by the gods. Filled with a maddening hunger he finds however much he devours he can never be satisfied. Only one person - his enslaved daughter - can possibly save him.

Using the extreme physicality of circus and their trademark innovative stage craft, Ockham’s Razor tell this raw, timely and darkly comic story about over consumption.

Fusing acrobatics, dance, storytelling and illusion Greed is a beautiful yet gut wrenching show about retribution and salvation and whether you can save people, and the world, from their worst impulses.

Funded by Arts Council England and commissioned and supported  by The Lowry, Salford.
