(Autumn 2027)
Following Tess, their hugely successful adaptation of Thomas Hardy’s Tess of the d'Urbervilles Ockham’s Razor return with Greed, a Greek myth made flesh. Based on Ted Hughes’ translation of Ovid’s Metamorphoses, Greed tells the story of a king who hungers to be revered above the gods.
After cutting down a sacred grove, he is cursed with a maddening hunger. No matter how much he consumes, he can never be satisfied. Only one person can possibly save him: his daughter.
Combining the extreme physicality of circus with their trademark innovative stagecraft, Ockham’s Razor tell a raw, timely and darkly comic story of insatiable appetite and overconsumption.
Fusing acrobatics, dance, storytelling and illusion, Greed is a beautiful yet gut-wrenching show about retribution, salvation and whether we can save people, and the world, from their worst impulses.
