The following information is a description of the production requirements for an outdoor performance of Ockham’s Razor’s outdoor show Together.

staffing and schedule

  • We require the venue/festival to prepare a clear flat level space, We require a minimum of 1 multi-skilled/all-rounder technician for get in and get out
  • Please advise us if your venue has particular staffing requirements that we may not have taken into account. For instance; additional staffing required for tallescope / access equipment use.
  • We may choose to stagger the lunchtime breaks of the lighting and stage departments if this serves the process better. We will aim to advise this at the beginning of the fit-up.
  • We require a minimum of 1 day before to get in and rehearse before the first show
  • Get out takes between 2-3 hours
  • Exact schedule will be tailored and discussed to allow for venue specific details.
  • Show running time: 12 minutes, no interval. This show can be repeated 3 times in one day

 

staging

stage

  • Minimum stage size of the tower Size 3m x 3m x 7m high clear space. (this can be discussed)
  • We require if the surface is not flat 3 x 8x4 steel deck to lay down and level
  • All performance takes place within and around our truss area which is 8m x 6m space. The audience are within the stage area, moving round the equipment to view the show from all four sides guided by the ushers, or they can be seated on four sides
  • Clear view for the performance needed to 6.5m high.

set

  • We tour a goal post truss structure. All aerial performance and rigging takes place on this structure
  • The total weight of the truss is approximately 300Kg.  The Perspex tower rigged separately weighs approx. 400KG
  • The structure is pulled up using 1x 10m chain hoists which we own.
  • Ideally, we will arrive with the truss in 8m or 6m sections. Please advise if this is not possible

rigging

  • All performance rigging happens from our trussing and has been worked out prior to arriving. We require the following to lift and secure the truss.
  • Either 2 x Sl25 Genie Lifts to raise truss (festival or venue to provide)
  • 4 x strong crew to help walk the goal post structure up once it has been built (approx. 10 minutes)

stage management

  • 2 x dressing rooms required for performers. They should be clean, private and have access to WC, basins and shower. It must be lockable, have well-lit mirrors and a wardrobe rack. It should be separate from public access and be close to the performance area
  • A suitable area to warm-up and rehearse prior to the show is appreciated.
  • Please advise if in house laundry facilities are not available and free of charge
  • Brooms, mops and crew to sweep and mop the stage before each performance is important for us please.

sound

Sound forms an important part of the show, it is not required to be super loud, but a full ranged strong presence is essential, and should sound like it is coming from stage.

we tour:

  • Mac Laptop for Qlab computer-based playback

we require:

  • PA system with 4 x speakers we can rig off our truss
  • Mixing desk with stereo mini jack input
  • Suitable control position with visual to the whole stage

general

transport and parking

  • All set and truss are toured in a 3.5tonne truck.
  • We require parking for a maximum of 2 vehicles. 1 x 3.5 T Van 1 x car for performer transport.

licensing / special / other

  • Together is a promenade performance the audience are bought into the space and follow viewing all around-  360’.
  • As a circus based aerial show several portions are in the air. All are comprehensively rehearsed and performed by trained professionals.
  • Please advise of any curfews, mandatory inspections by licensing or safety departments

  • Company have full insurance and all rigging is undertaken and checked by qualified technical staff.
  • Site visit by technical manager will be undertaken if necessary where all aspects of the rigging can be discussed.
  • All music has been composed for this show and is not covered by PRS / PPL requirements

weather/Covid

  • This show cannot take place or continue if there is persistent rain or very bad weather, (rain/ sleet/snow, hail or storm like conditions)
  • If there is light rain, we may be able to start the show later or continue to the end or alternatively pause the performance until the weather has passed.
  • With torrential rain or persistent down pours, we would need to stop the show or delay its start time and perform when it was safe to do so.
  • The same applies for more extreme forms of weather.
  • The work is very physical, and the performers could be at risk if injury or accident if they perform or continue performing in wet or bad weather conditions.
  • This performance can take place within covid restrictions as it is outdoors.
